It is D-Day in the Barone house today, the day we have to write - TopicsExpress

It is D-Day in the Barone house today, the day we have to write the check to the feds. We have paid taxes all year long, seems we just didnt pay enough (we lost one huge deduction that bit us in the rear that we didnt see coming until it was to late). We will close out a bunch of accounts set away for retirement, cut back on many things, wont be buying an RV, Barbie wont be coming out on the road, maybe make payments over the upcoming year to the feds, been some sleepless nights, you bet. Im not happy about it. But over the last couple of days Ive done a lot of soul searching, spent a lot of time trying to get both Barb and myself out of a funk, and I find myself somewhat surprised, that as a human being, Im actually okay with it. As a human being. As a caring, human being. If you read my note of being the American Dream of my Grandparents, you read in there about a lady named Rose. An elderly woman who couldnt make it through the month, and who during the last week or so, ate cat food to make do. Over the past two days I have dreamt a lot of Rose, and all the other Roses out there and in my heart I have come to peace with helping them. I dont think paying large amount of taxes should become a discourse on the poor. And we have just put up $15-22,000 to say that. I only wish the money would go to help the folk like Rose, who I know live only miles from the Upper Middle Class enclave I live in. Instead it will go for billions of dollars in aid to countries that hate us. Instead it will go to fund pensions of politicians, go to fund their healthcare for life. Instead: The federal government sent an average of $120 million in retirement and disability payments to deceased former federal employees every year for at least the past five years. 41 (Source: The Wastebook, 2011) If I could talk to the Tax-Man I would say this to him, I know it takes taxes to run a civilization so please let me take my taxes, and be civil about it. Let me take our $20,000 and hand it to an inner city school principal. Let me take our $20,000 and put it in an education trust fund for the next child of a baby momma, baby daddy. Let me take our $20,000 and hand it to the working stiff who lost his/her job and now is about to lose their home. Mr. Tax-Man, Ill give you my money, please give me, give us, the courtesy of saying where our money should go. Let me hand our $20,000 to the young wife on a military base trying to get by. Let me hand our $20,000 to the widow of a policeman, to the widow of a fireman. Let me hand our $20,000 to the man who buys all the flags for the veterans graves. But Mr. Tax-Man Im pissed, were pissed, when you take our tax money and spend $384,989 of it to study the evolution of a Ducks Penis: cnsnews/news/article/384949-federal-study-looks-plasticity-duck-penis-length I want to be the Kind in Man, the civil in civilization, well take the hit in our finances, do the best we can and move on. Just like all of you out there. But Mr. Tax-Man, dont belittle us, please take our money and do good, use it as a helping hand for those who need help, but dont make needing help, a viable career. Dont disrespect hard working Americans like that, use our money, dont waste it, we have worked long and hard hours to get it. Please know, it is not your money, it is ours, we fund you. Remember, We The People... History, in general, only informs us what bad government is. - Thomas Jefferson
