It is Fall break for Fannin County Schools. The first part was spent in fun exhaustion helping with the Blue Ridge Mountain Marching Festival. The efforts of Robin Welch Taylor and her crew in hospitality set the tone for all our guests. Junell Towl Millholland and Debby N Dave Sanders greeted many. Melinda Cox Wilson and her dedicated teammates seemed to be everywhere at once. Michelle welcomed all at registration accompanied by other volunteers. Wayne and Sandra, Vanessa Weaver, Homer Johnson, and a hordes of dedicated souls served food to literally thousands - while smiling in the rain and heat. Connie Hutchens Reynolds and family reminded us that music is a family affair. Alumni from across the decades helped make the experiences that they had available to their children. Brenda Mchan and Mike set a new standard in leadership (and juggling )! Belle Doss demonstrated that the skills of leadership developed in the drum major Corp dont die and that tone can be summoned and employed when needed. Darrin G Conner wore many hats and mastered them.all. so many people helped (& yet we needed more) -- too many people to name (or thank ) T C Dillard was the administrator on site and was as always the most resourceful and caring; Don (Judy Judy Cable Cheyne) the voice of the marching rebels lead us all. Barbara and Larry Hansen & Harry Doss you were missed. Corporate community partners provided funding and food - the 18 bands enjoyed a first class affair - Scott Barnstead has to be exhausted but hopefully the success of the event is its own reward. Again one if the things that make Fannin County Schools great.
