It is Pearl Harbor Day - the day that our president said would live in infamy. Today we remember - but more than a surprise attach on a naval facility in Hawaii. Today as Americans we remember those civilian soldiers who fought the British....those Americans who believed so in justice that they took up arms against kin less than 100 years later....those who fought in trenches against poison gas in WW1...those who rose against genocide and conservative fascism and arrogance scourging both Europe and the Pacific....those who stood in the divided countries of Korea and later Viet Nam...those who battled in Kuwait....Iraq....Afghanistan....Today we remember men and women who were not afraid to give when despots only sought to grab and take....and the words of Abraham Lincoln cover them all from a Pennsylvania town.
