It is Phlox time, I love that perennial. So many colours, lovely fragrance . If you trim phlox in the spring, plants will be bushier and bloom later. I try to give them little more space so they dont get mildew. There is quite few phlox mildew resistant: Laura, Jeffs Pink, Shortwood, David Peppermint Twist, Bill Baker . Border phlox grows best in moist, well-drained soils in full sun to light shade, zone 4 and up. Despite being hardy and adaptable border phlox perform best where summer nights are cool.
