It is Saturday, July 26, 2014. And you may be asking: why is it so important to mention? Well, depending on your disposition and orientation, July is the hottest month in Houston. For those who have called Houston home, we have to deal with the highest electricity bill. If you are a cultural man, then continue to read why this season is significant. August is hot, however, due to its significance to Ideato traditions, it is the most festive month amongst folks here and home. August is the month most towns in IDEATO observe their New Yam Festival; a tradition as old as Igbo land. Yam is the king of crops, a measure of Igbo mans greatness and strength. It is revered and till date, celebrated. Today, two great Ideato towns, Urualla and Akokwa will lock horns in a soccer tournament. Last year, Urualla traumatized Akokwa with a 4/2 win. That defeat cast a negative spell among Akokwa indigenes. Today, they would struggle to juggle a win to cleanse the blemish. They are ready to rumble and my question the Urualla Mbiagu in Houston is: are you ready to stand up for Urualla? If you are, come out and be counted. They countdown has started and you should stand up for what you believe in. Come on down to be counted: 3770 Summit Valley Drive Houston TX 77082 See yall!
