It is a SHAME that somebody who we CELEBRATED a few months ago nationally and internationally would now be treated this way by people on this page. This young lady brought St Lucia to prominence in EVERY SINGLE day of competition representing our blue, black, white and yellow PROUDLY on an international stage. She spoke about her country PROUDLY and just a few months ago we all celebrated and cheered her on. SLAP person of the year is someone who exemplifies the ideals of SLAP, aiming for the betterment of St Lucia. Her way is to bring millions of dollars worth in free publicity to the island and a renewed sense of national pride that money cannot buy. Yes there are many people doing lots of great things in and out of St Lucia and in and out of SLAP. Giving Nina this award does not take away from any of this good work. But do not bash the very person whom we gathered on the Derek Walcott Square to celebrate.
