It is a fact that many of our responses to acts of injustice are emotionally driven. Contrary to the dominant narrative, however, I dont value logic over emotion, largely for that reason. Emotion produces immediate action and is necessary to address an immediate need. Where we fail, generally, is by not keeping the level of intensity + pressure on the system after our anger thaws. Already folks are moving on. Many propose joining a radical organization to bridge the gap between reactionary responses and long-term planning, but for some reason folks sour up at the thought of making that commitment. Any thoughts on why that is? How can we do better to mold - not manipulate (unlike Sharpton and his cronies) - our righteous anger for the long haul?
