It is a personal preference for me, to not provoke and create unnecessary negativity during paranormal investigations. I do however, prod by attempting to trigger specific emotions in potential spirits, but not to the point of blasting an environment with degrading comments and intentional acts of malice. That only seems to bring energies down, decreasing the chances for something paranormal to occur. In recent years, Ive also seen how a positive and happy environment seems to contribute to an increase in paranormal phenomenon. Having the proper environment and people involved in an investigation, definitely contributes to how often my team and I witness and are able to capture evidence of things that may be paranormal. The technique of provoking an angry or hostile entity seems to be fueled by mainstream paranormal TV. Its important for paranormal investigators to know and understand that if the concept of intelligent energy truly does exist after the body dies, that our emotions and collective consciousness moves into the environment with the living, treating those intelligent entities accordingly may provide us with more assurance that we can indeed communicate with them.
