It is a pleasure to invite you to the preGA Research Integrity featuring Information and Communication Technologies a joint venture brought to you by the “Health 2.0” and “Next Generation of Medical Researchers” preGA series. Everyone has a role and responsibility to play in promoting a healthy and positive research culture that is conducive to the training of young scientists and the realization of scientific innovations for the benefits of humankind. Students will learn how irresponsible conduct in research could affect the progress of research and hurt people in different ways. Unfortunately many universities do not sufficiently teach how to become a good researcher, how to publish successfully and how to conduct responsible research. The lack of trainings related to Research Methodologies and Publications led IFMSA to organize the first of this kind pre General Assembly during MM 2014 in Tunisia with the aim of providing insight into good research practice and successfully communicating results. The great feedbacks and outcomes, together with the high interest of students who applied and participated, led us to organizing a this second preGA on Research at August Meeting 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan. Our vision is to equip medical students with the knowledge and skills to take on health leadership roles locally and globally, we feel moving address the growing data gap—that we begin with capacity building for all our members: INCREASING VALUE, REDUCING WASTE. Moreover in the last twenty years, with the advent of the internet and the diffusion of accessible computing among the masses, we witnessed a total revolution in many fields of our society, industry, life itself. Social networking, artificial intelligences, very big data, real time zeitgeist, mobile processing, internet of things and so on are now everyday concepts that were not even in science fiction yesterday. Never in the history humans have being able to create, store, exchange and process such volumes of information. And information drives knowledge, comprehension, insight, evolution,education. Everything has been affected by this paradigm shift, and Medicine,and Research could not be left untouched. It is fundamental to gain practical and digital skills to SET OFF ON THE ROAD TO THE RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT OF RESEARCH!
