It is about time for African leaders to stop giving a blind eye at the threat mounted by a group of rag tag, filthy fools spreading annihilation and anarchy in the form of Islamic holy war at Africa’s top economic power house. Nigeria has become West Africa’s main economic hub for the distribution of goods and services. Now the Boko Haram fighters continue to spread serious threat against innocent people, making life difficult for everybody. What is the role of ECOWAS? Do we expect our African leaders to leave these religious fanatics to spread their cancer in Sub Sahara Africa, while the Ebola Virus is spreading its tentacles on poor West Africans? West Africans have undergone so many sufferings within this short period of time. When will Africa expects this to stop? Now the so called Boko Haram group is imposing their religious faith on poor Africans through intimidation and the use of the barrel of gun, while African leaders keep mute. These idiots are creating a religious war within the West African region, if authorized without any military confrontation. African leaders should give a helping hand to the Nigerian people. Boko Haram group is nothing but a bunch of thieves and rapists. ECOWAS should adopt a protocol relating to mutual assistance on defense in some cities in Nigeria. This is an armed threat against the entire member states of ECOWAS, while the member states give a blind eye and waiting for the situation to become worse. The Economic Community of West African States, known as (ECOWAS) for short comprises of a regional group of fifteen countries, founded in 1975. Its main mission is to promote economic integration in all fields of economic activity, particularly industry, transport, telecommunications, energy, agriculture, natural resources, commerce, monetary, and financial questions, social and cultural matters. With the continuous spread of this terrorist groups in Sub Sahara Africa without any strong voices echoing within the African continent, Africa should be ready to fight another religious Ebola war coming from within it back doors. The past rebel wars in Sierra Leone and Liberia should have been enough to teach West Africa a serious lesson. Africa and the world know how many lives were lost. It is ECOWAS’s responsibility to find a solution to end this atrocity in the Federal Republic of Nigeria before it spreads to another region. It is at its initial stage as a cow and sooner or later it will become an elephant and we will no longer be able to handle it. ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND. VOICE OF PEACE NEWS AND COMMENT: UMARU JALLOH.
