It is absolutely fundamental that any confession should include as antidotes all of the four powers to cleanse obscurations, which are the power of support, the powers of regretting having done wrong, the power of resolution and the power of action as an antidote. The first power is the power of support, which refers to visualization of the particular object to which we address our confession and pray for His blessing. The power of support can be divided into the external power of support and the internal power of support. The former means to visualizing such deities as the guru, Vajrasattva, Buddha Amitabha and Avalokitesvara for His blessing to cleanse all obscurations of ourselves and all other living beings, while the latter refers to arousing our mind of renunciation, bodhicitta and confident faith in the teacher. 懺悔只有具足四個重要條件（依止力、破惡力、恢復力、現行對治力），罪業才能清淨。“依止力”，就是觀想和祈請，分為外依止力和內依止力。外依止力是指觀想上師、金剛薩垛、阿彌陀佛、觀音菩薩等本尊，清淨自他一切眾生的業障。內依止力是指出離心、菩提心和智慧的信心。
