It is almost doable. First, you send someone famous to North Korea to charm The Supreme Leader into understanding that being in on this joke will make him the most popular person in the world. Doesnt have to be THAT famous, someone like Denis Rodman would be fine, but you might have to send him twice. Then, you just have to have SOME SOMEWHAT damaging stuff to leak ... you know, some Obama jokes, some fake social security numbers, maybe even a script you want to market test or a watermarked pirated copy to trace copyright infringers. Damnit. Well need to make sure Obama is in on the joke. Well have Seth do that, because Im not so sure Obama likes James Franco. Well, since were reaching out to Obama and hes a lame duck, might as well bring him in on the joke. Meanwhile, James can write some really funny broken English threats on top of ridiculous graphics that we can release as the threats. Then, to really sell it ... we start the PR appearances and deploy the advertising so that we can take it all down again the week before the release. Really amp up that pressure. Then, we have the hackers say theres going to be a Christmas Surprise ... no, maybe thats too over the top? Will that give away the gag that were going to release the movie anyway as we scheduled? No? Okay, throw that in too. I know at least 12 people personally that could orchestrate this.
