It is already so heard to be Muslim in this part of the world, he said. Why did this man have to make things harder for us? I heard this recently from a calm, peace loving and shocked brother at the mosque today. It is truly disturbing to see these act of shameless violence on our own soil! I am so disheartened that all day long I have been switching rooms, moving between my office, living room and kitchen and havent been able to operate as I normally do. Just this morning, prior to hearing about the tragic events in Ottawa and Quebec, I had told someone that I discourage students of knowledge to learn in countries which have political unrest as knowledge requires focus and focus is lost with unrest. Hours later I hear of this troubling event at home. My prayers are with those afflicted. May Allah make your pain easy to bear and protect others here and abroad from the antagonism of all criminals.
