It is always a blessing when the Spirit of the Lord comes into our small group and begins to guide us into all truth and show us things to come as He comforts us in the Word of God through our bible study. When invited in, the Holy Spirit reveals such treasures and brings true revelation as He prepares the bride of Christ for the catching away that is about to take place. In our Embracing Grace and Truth small group bible study this past Sunday we moved into lesson 4 of the Prophetic Turning Points signature study by Dr. David Jeremiah entitled The Believer and the Tribulation. There is no more important time ever lived by anyone on earth, except the ministry of our Lord Jesus, than the time mankind lives in today. All the patriarchs of the Old Testament looked forward to our time, and were faithful to the calling of God in their time, so we could live and be faithful to God in our time. Hebrews 11:13 says, These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. V.14, For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. V.16, But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city..... God has prepared for us... a city. Jesus said in John 14:2-3, In my Fathers house (city?) are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. V.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. I am not concerned with the differing beliefs of timeline that Christians have concerning the end times and the tribulation period, pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, no-trib. The bible says, according to your faith be it unto you. If you want to believe for a mid-trib rapture...OK, if you want the whole enchilada... you can have it...as for me and my house we are not appointed unto wrath. I believe the bride of Christ will be unspotted by the trials and tribulation of the first 3 1/2 years or the last 3 1/2 years of the 7 years of tribulation to come before the battle of Armageddon in the valley of Megiddo. The time period in which we live right now, I believe to be what Jesus referred to as the beginning of sorrows just prior to the beginning of the time of trouble known as the first 3 1/2 years of the tribulation. This time period in which the signs of His soon return will be manifest in the sun, stars, moon and earth, we are seeing them now. Jesus said When you see these things begin to come to pass, look up, your redemption draws near. The line between the beginning of sorrows and the tribulation will be as indefinite as the twinkling of an eye, it is hard to distinguish, we need to stay ready to be ready is all I can say. Jesus said watch and pray, for you know not at what hour your master returns. We may not know the hour of Jesus return but it is the Holy Spirit the reveals the times and seasons to us of the nearness of our blessed hope so we can be prepared to meet Jesus at His coming in the clouds. Christians have a serious responsibility while we live in this world, waiting for the appearing of Jesus Christ. We are not just to be happy-go-lucky; we are to be about accomplishing that which is ours to do. Just as the patriarchs of old, they received not the promises but were persuaded, they put their hands and shoulders to the plow of the Lord, they were faithful, embracing the promises without the manifestation, and died ..... IN FAITH KNOWING.... God had prepared for them a place. When Jesus returns will He find faith on the earth ? He died on the cross for our sins, to make an entrance to the Fathers house for us... an heavenly residence... and that is where we are going .... be at our next Embracing Grace and Truth meeting, Sunday evening at 6:30pm, New Hope Church fellowship hall when we will continue our Prophetic Turning Points study with lesson 12 entitled Pursue Your Reward Until I Come. In this lesson we learn about the rewards that await those who live a life of faithfulness to Christ. Bring a friend for great fellowship, snacks and beverages provided.
