It is arrogant to shrink yourself for the sake of others, to make them feel better. I would be offended if I played ball against someone better than me and they let me win. Id rather you maul me on the court. How else will I get better?! Playing yourself down doesnt give others permission to challenge themselves, to push, to step it up, to improve, or grow. By keeping yourself small you keep others around you small. Its disgusting.
