It is as shocking for me to post this as it is for you to read it.... after such a wonderful show and experience last night, if I had known that tonights show was going to be what it was, I would have skipped it and headed home.... i never thought I would say such a thing! So hear me out on this.... First of all everyone who is locked and loaded with their sentiments of you were so lucky to even be in the arena that it shouldnt matter. Or you have now been to 11 shows and most of us are still waiting to be able to go to one, how selfish of you. To you I will say this. Please dont come at me with that. I will be the first one to recognize how fortunate I have been to be able see Garth perform 11 shows in 6 different cities. But to been fair you guys see all the excitement about it, not the 10 days in a row I have to work to get the weekend off to be able to go to the shows all while still attending school full time. And I do not say any of that in an attempt gain pitty or to make it seem like anyone elses efforts or lives are of any different significance. All I am saying is please spare me the attempted guilt trip. Secondly, I am not in any way saying that Garth was a disappointment. I know that everyone is very sensitive to any ridicule of him at the moment, so I am just getting ahead of that. Yes, his voice was damn near gone from the first song, but he gave it his all and for that I am overly appreciative. The music, the performance, it was all 110% just as every show has been. He was great. Third, I had an AMAZING seat! I was lucky enough to grab an unused seat in the front row of section 117 which is usually reserved for friends and family. I would say it was likely the best seat that it have had! Now here is what I will say, and everyone will see when I have time to post the pictures because I took one..... if you decide you want to take a sign to a concert, any concert, please be mindful of those around you. If you decide to take an oversized sign with lights and such all over it, once the musician recognizes it once, twice, maybe a good dozen times, go ahead and put it down. You are literally effecting the ability of EVERYONE around you to enjoy the show. And when security asks you three times to put it down you should probably take that as a sign that you be an annoying.... I COMPLETELY understand that she paid her same $67 to see him as everyone around her did, and she has a right to be excited and have a sign and wave it around (momentarily) to get Garths attention.... heck I support that kind of enthusiasm because that it what keeps him coming back for more..... but when it becomes a hinderance to other peoples ability to enjoy the show, you need to be respectful. So again, here is my Public Service Announcement..... IF you are going to take a sign to a concert, be mindful of the size, considerate of those around you, and for the love once the entertainer lets you know that it has been seen go ahead and put it down. Your fellow concert goers will greatly appreciate it. I promise.
