It is becoming increasingly apparent that under the new mayor, that despite his implied or stated assurances of a more respectful police force that such words are starting to ring hollow. First we have Eric Gardner as well as a previous case of an unauthorized use of a choke hold and now this. What is becoming clear by the draconian behavior on the part of these ranking officers in this video is that nothing has changed. The Police continue to deny first amendment rights by insisting because they tell you to shut up that you are suppose to be quiet. They assume they also have the right (nothing new) to physically abuse you. We must hold DeBlasio accountable and not give him a free pass on this issue.
