It is becoming increasingly difficult to have faith in people. The selfishness, self-absorption, lack of moral fiber, and the intentional efforts of others to serve themselves even at the expense of the ones that are around them never ceases to amaze me. The challenge then becomes to not fall into that pattern. To not fight fire with fire. To resist this means that pain will certainly follow, and it does. So be it. I choose to be the person I want to be. I choose not to punish others for the inflictions of others upon me. This choice may likely mean a lonely future. Well, I would rather have a lonely future than one with a person that will take what they want and spit out the rest when they have conveniently taken what they wanted.
