It is distressing that the politicians the people elect to - TopicsExpress

It is distressing that the politicians the people elect to administer affairs on their behalf and who pay their salaries should be so far removed from the reality of the needs of those who cannot find work for whatever reason. As things are, too many of the really poor live lives that are not far removed from the lives of their animals. In the UK a hideous situation exists where the poor, the old or others in receipt of credits barely have enough to sustain themselves but only just and only for as long as they do not have to buy cloths, repair items in their homes or pay for other essentials. The credits they receive are not adequate to cover additional expenditures. During the Winter months for example the poor and in particular the old age pensioners in receipt of Pension Credit (in the UK all pensioners receive pension credits) are dying in their thousands because they cannot afford to pay the fuel bills and have to chose between food and heating their homes. The energy companies are creaming off billions in annual profits. A monstrous, abusive situation. The most offensive practice by the establishment here is the rule that forbids the old age pensioners from taking on part time work as a means of earning a bit of extra money. Any, earnings by those in receipt of credit payments have to be reported to the Pension Service so that they can deduct those earnings from the credit payments. The old cannot even go out to do odd jobs to make some extra money to minimise their discomfort. The Establishment has created a situation in which the poor are forced to endure suffering and discomfort. Elect Occupy members to political power local and national and change all this.
