It is funny when you notice the Ethiopian real estate market , how artificially inflated it is and how greedy the people involved are. I met a friend of mine in my recent trip there who happens to be a civil servant and struggles to afford to even rent a two bed room condominium because the rich and the halves hijacked the supposedly for poor condos and rent it back to the poor with outrageous prices ,which they barely afford to pay . I just read an article that the Chinese are entering into Ethiopian real estate market with their first project being a modern urban complex and I personally think they with other foreign investors in this business can change the business for good so the average day to day , hardworking guy can afford a decent living place . Is that too much to ask ? The government has responsibility in that rather allowing only the halves to monopole the market and apparently ruin it . Even though I dont live there and frankly have no intention of living there,I have plenty of cousins , family members and friends whose day to day worry is this basic human right of housing and the government has a huge responsibility of leveling the plain field for the overwhelming majority of the working class and the poor . Just building roads , skyscraper buildings where only few elites and few business men can afford and enjoy doesnt make you developmental. Ehadig eyesemah new ???????
