It is imperative that you know what can be done before to safeguard your family and yourself from a flood. Please see the following tips on what to do before a flood. Before a Flood 1) Develop a family emergency plan. 2) Ensure that all members of your family know what immediate actions to take to secure their personal safety. 3) Secure all important documents in water proof bags or sealed containers to prevent them from getting wet. 4) Tie down all containers especially those that have explosive liquids. 5) Secure valuables and park vehicles in places that would not become flooded. 6) Secure pets on higher ground. If unable to take pets along with you, set them free so tha they would be able to seek higher ground on their own.
