It is in this spirit that we would like to suggest that our MPs consider asking the following questions: Why does the Government continue to have huge Budget surpluses every year? The last reported fiscal year’s (FY 2012) surplus was $36.1 billion according to IMF fiscal reporting guidelines, according to the Department of Statistics. Why does the Government continue to, from a cashflow perspective – not spend a single cent on CPF, HDB and healthcare?
