It is interesting how quickly we can get adjust to a lifestyle that is completely different than ours. Here in Peru, now almost 2 weeks, and the poverty surrounding me is familiar,and the normal atmosphere. I am only passing through the situation and I am already starting to prepare for the post stress that I will have when I return home. Even though I am comfortable tonight in a nice hotel, there is an unsettled guilt that makes it not quite right to have so much luxury while others near by suffer.....The drive to the neighborhood where I would help deliver boxes of books to a prep school in a small community known for gang violence, drug abuse and crime...I was told we would lock the doors of the van...
