The mere sending out resumes in the hope someone reads them is poor targeting of ones resources. A Microsoft study in 2010 revealed that 80 percent of jobs are never advertised. There are 700,700 unemployed in Australia, 1.4 million visitors on visas that allow them to work. The federal govt has deliberately Persued free trade no tarrif agendas, has followed a procurement policy the opposite of Europe and the u.s. Where we actually discriminate against local suppliers or workers being awarded taxpayer funded tenders. AND we are slack on the dumping of cheap goods which undermine our local business and workforce. If u look at the totality of these events, you can but marvel,that those running the country are waiting for a chariot from the sky laden with investors and know how who will re establish a manufacturing work force. Thus far we are exporting wealth,importing poverty and asking our redundant or qualified workers to jump a series of hoops pretending jobs will materialise out of nowhere. Mutual obligation is a great concept, but the obligation is on the mps u elect to make policy decisions based on practical realities not economic dogma and jargon about efficiency, market forces playing to the law of the jungle. There appears to be a snobbery that if its Australian or u barrack for it .. Then u have a square jaw and must believe in the flat earth.
