It is just so sad to me to find that once again a greyhound related Facebook page will be closing its newsfeed to galgo related posts. Discussions about the differences between both breeds and the different needs are seen as drama. Yes, we could shut up and try to sell off our galgos as greyhounds. Its just, I happened to live with both breeds for 15 years. They really get along fine, have much in common, but there are differences and I like to inform potential adopters about this to avoid disappointments. And no, I am not forcing galgos up to every potential home, quality is much more important then quantity. A galgo in a perfect home, will be a wonderful ambassador for the breed. A badly placed galgo will only cause trouble and not be of any help for its siblings in Spain. No matter what breed you adopt, information is crucial. Even if it may make you decide against the breed. We are not here to place as many as possible, we are here to ensure that every galgo find the home it needs and deserves.
