It is kinda of funny. I am on my way to work I am still not feeling very well and thinking about all the things that have to happen in this ministry in order for the gears to turn. From a New Series, to youth groups , small groups , the Blue room , ALL KINDS OF STUFF. I am walking across the parking lot and come into make my rounds. My mind is on one of my friends Keith Taylor and what his family is faceing. My mind then goes to my Assistant Pastor Michael Williamson and what he and his family give just to be here each and every week. I think of all the new faces that we are seeing in the Church.... In the back of my head I have a Youth pastor moving and a one coming on staff soon. I think to all the kids that have come and gone. I go on to pick up my work for the day and I turn the corner and there stood one of the most important people of my life. A person that helped shap me into what and who I am. My mom was great, My dad was great , I was just out of control growing up. AS I turned the corner there stood Raymond Tinney better know as the Sgt Maj. My mind floods of memories of High School and JROTC. And then I just understand. It just clicks. Leadership is simply this , Motavting Others, to become something better. I want to share a part of the vision with you today. Ready? I want to be a leader that understands that if this Church grows that it isnt because of him it is because of Jesus and the fact that I had a AWESOME Core Team . This isnt the Jim Show. This ministry isnt about one Church or even many Churches at this stage , it isnt about full time ministry. It is not building our own building. It is about Jesus. It is about reaching people with enviorments that matter and I am not sorry for that. It is willing to do anything short of sin to see people in Church and Saved! It is about the community and what can we do better. Where do we come up short? How do we fix it to make it better next time? Being a leader isnt giveing orders all the time. It is understanding this one simple principle... You are part of the puzzle. That you are only as good as your team. So I want to say thank you today to Jesus for everything that he is and does and for this Core Team: Dana Ellison Amber Wyatt Williamson Mike Williamson , Keith Taylor , Jenniffer Walker Jennifer Thomas-Taylor Shondaya Fedotoff. You guys are the BEST ! Turn Ministries Church will be a success on two levels. One WE never forget Jesus. Two because of your hard work and prayers. Thank You for makeing this a place where Every Detail Matters! ~ Senior Pastor Jim Ellison ~
