It is nearly two weeks since mum, Deacon Mary Nyarieka Chol, - TopicsExpress

It is nearly two weeks since mum, Deacon Mary Nyarieka Chol, succumbed to cancer after years of painful struggle. Although we monitored her health as it deteriorates, it is still hard to admit that she’d passed. Notwithstanding that we had many wishes and goals in our family that she would have lived to witness; my last wish in our last phone conversation was for her to celebrate, at least, one more Christmas Eve with us. However, God has his own plans, better than ours, and therefore we are forced to admit her physical disappearance. Not only that she had endured enough pain and suffering, Deacon Mary has left a lasting legacy in the family, church and the society that we are indebted to its privilege. She has taken care of us and shown us all that we could be; she has served the church for more than 40 years, and equally sacrificed for the people of South Sudan through liberation struggle to post independent South Sudan for which she had served as a Member of Parliament in Jonglei state, South Sudan. Mum, your life is a privilege that we could never fail to honor on your grave, and, therefore we give thanks that your physical disappearance only marks the beginning of your eternal life, till we meet again! We thank all friends, relatives, family members and churches who have spent sleepless nights and days comforting and supporting us while mourning our lost. Thank to friends, family members and Good Samaritans, who have supported us physically, psychologically and through all other means during our toughest moments. I also take this opportunity to thanks the church, friends, relatives, brothers and sisters who visited us here in Canada, and all who sent us their condolences through various means. We will continue to pray for the family to heal, and for the Lord to turn our sorrows to happiness as we begin the New Year. All the best in 2015!
