It is not just madrassa curriculum which need to be changed but federal and provincial curricula also need drastic changes. The history of ideas should be introduced to show how religious ideas evolved over centuries from animism and Hinduism to Buddhism and Zoroastrianism, and the evolution of the Abrahamiac faiths from Zoroastrianism. The Jewish Captivity, the role of the Persian Achaemenid Dynasty in the writing of the Old Testament, the concept of cultural and religious freedom in the Persian Empire should form an integral part of both religious and secular histories. It is only through enlightened discussion of ideas can we defeat militancy and their narrow religious narratives. - Kurush Murad.
