It is not someone elses job to make you happy. Period. In fact, they cannot do so permanently. Sure folks can do sweet things for us, make us smile and stimulate warm fuzzies with us.... but ultimately, only we, are responsible for our own happiness. I am learning this more and more each day. And to be honest, it is invigorating and crappy all at the same time as I feel myself slipping in and out of the old habits mindset. Having said all that in complete truth...i am encouraging you to also begin a new journey in this area. Im not promising it will be easy....but will be totally worth it. Begin identifying places in your life where you have allowed another to determine your level of joy in certain situations. Focus. Dive deep. Begin to reroute that power. Actually RECLAIM the power that you have unknowingly signed over the lease to. In the long run, you will find that you can no longer be led on the emotional rollercoasters anymore as you have discovered that you are in charge of where the ride goes in the first place.
