It is not the movie made for children which brings in the money but rather the merchandise sold related to the movie!! Merchandise tied to the Cars franchise has generated global retail sales of more than $8 billion, Walt Disney said Monday. Selling everything from underwear, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lunch boxes if it has cars on it the masses are buying it. The merchandise being sold under CARS cost far more than the same item without the image but parents are willing to fork out the money following a trend. The child does not care what toothbrush goes into his or her mouth so it is obvious this is for the desires of parents. Once the market is saturated they come up with a new movie and start the cycle all over again. CARS is getting tired so now Disney is coming out with a new movie called PLANES. Disney will make more billions from those addicted to fads and trends. What parents do not realize is they are training their children to become trend and fad addicts. This is why we have teenagers who refuse to wear something that is still looking new because it is no longer in style. Bill Gates (net worth 67.5 Billion), Warren Buffet (net worth 53.5 Billion) Charles Koch 34 Billion and not one of them follow fads and trends. It is those living from check to check who allow themselves and their money to be manipulated by the greedy merchandisers!!
