It is now OFFICIAL!!! I am no longer the Interim Pastor of the Macedonia United Methodist Church and Dahlgren United Methodist Church. I am their OFFICIAL PASTOR. It was a struggle wrestling with the LORD over this one, but I am CONFIDENT this is where HE wants me at this time. I will be serving them as a RETIRED UNITED METHODIST ELDER at 1/4 time. I love these people, and it is a joy for me to share with all my FACEBOOK FRIENDS that I am now their pastor. Brother Phillip Philip Payne from the Macedonia Church is the brother-in-law of Bill Plater who played CACTUS PETE on WSIL TV when many of us on the IF You Grew Up in Marion, Illinois, Facebook page, were kids, is now a resident of a Nursing Facility here in Marion. I am privileged that on Tuesday Ill get to make a pastoral call on CACTUS PETE. Please keep that in your prayers for me and for our two Churches. I want to hank Brother Roger Russell, Superintendent of our Cache River District of the UMC, Bishop Keaton, and all the Cabinet of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference for this opportunity to serve. Ill also get to relate still pretty well to our wonderful Church Marion Aldersgate United Methodist Church and our AWESOME Seekers Sunday School Class, for Ill get nine weeks vacation time, and MANY TO MOST of these will give me the opportunity to be back home at Aldersgate. I also hope to become active in Wednesday evening ministries at Aldersgate too.--David Reynolds, PASTOR Dahlgren and Macedonia United Methodist Churches.
