It is now estimated that over 10,000 people are participating in the New Testament Challenge, reading the NT in 12 months, reading just 5 chapters a week. This was started a couple of years back by our Captain Phil for Hythe Corps and then was taken up as a UK Territorial challenge whilst our new General was TC. Our captain is still very much involved and issues a weekly guideline/topics for discussion sheet. I also discovered this week that a very good friend of mine, and Hythe Corps, is co-ordinating the challenge for his corps, running a couple of weeks or so behind, and takes the trouble to change the dates so that their corps can participate without feeling that they are "behind" actually the corps is in New Zealand so they are technically in front!!!
