It is now official, the four major global temperature - TopicsExpress

It is now official, the four major global temperature recordkeepers: NASA, NOAA, the Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) and the UK’s MET Office (Hadley Centre); have confirmed that 2014 was the hottest year since records begun in 1880. If you are living in Kampala or Uganda in that case and you were alive last year, you certainly feel that the temperatures this year are a bit much hotter than last year - December, 2014 was the hottest month globally in 135 years since records begun, the January, 2015 results are yet to come through but it threatens to break December 2014. The global climate is changing, world leaders are taking snail paced progress in agreeing to a climate deal - but you can take individual actions to ensure that you adapt to a warmer and much hotter climate - ensure you take lots of water, if you are accustomed to outdoor exercising, make sure you do this early morning or late evening when the sun is gone, never during the heat of the day - we are living in a much different time. Meanwhile, ensure you get some solar power back-up for your home, because in the foreseeable future there will be more frequent black-outs as water levels drop; drink lots of water - this will help you cool-off and keep you hydrated. Meanwhile if you use charcoal or firewood to cook, ensure you get an energy efficient cookstove which will reduce your wood consumption by 60% or switch to cleaner fuels (e.g. biogas) altogether; prepare for wood scarcity as climate change bites, whatever you do, learn more about climate change and ensure you too are part of the action to correct this greatest global urgency... ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/
