It is now officially December! The month of Christmas!! :D So, tonights Coffee & Talk topic was Christmas. What is Christmas all about? Why do people celebrate it? It all started with one little baby being born. But first of all, we will talk about something else. Did you know, that you are a sinner? And that everyone is a sinner? Even those people that we think are GREAT people, in Gods standard, they are sinners. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen? Have you ever looked at a person with lust? Have you ever been angry? Well, if you answered yes to any of them, you are either a Liar, a Thief, a person with lust, or a murderer (in Bible terms). And in the Bible, it says For the wages of sin is death... [Rom 6:23] which means we all have to die. Not in physical terms, but spiritually. If God is love, then cant He just ignore our sins and let us go? No. Because He is LOVE, but also JUSTICE. He is a Just judge. He cannot judge unfairly. So what happened? This is where Jesus comes in. God, because He is justice He had to judge us and ask us to pay the penalty for the sin, which was death. But because He is also love, He payed the penalty in our place by sending Jesus to earth to die for us instead. This is what happened on Christmas. Jesus coming to earth as a gift for us, to die in our place. So do you take the gift? Or do you pay the penalty yourself? Have a think as you celebrate Christmas this year. And if you want to accept the gift, talk to Jesus. I want to welcome you as a gift from God. Please come into my life. Next meeting is going to be on the 16th of December, and its a special one!
