It is obvious that marriage is Gods own idea. It was God that first thought of it and brought it to be. Marriage did not originate from man. God ordained it as a permanent and intimate relationship between a man and his wife till death do them apart. Maybe you are thinking of getting married very soon. How did that thought come into your mind? Was it a result of pressure from your parents or friends? Or was it from the Lord? Marriage was ordained by God to fulfill His own purpose. How far has your union with your wife or husband gone in achieving the divine purpose of God? Pray right now and let there be an eternal impartation of life from the Lord unto you concerning this very important part of your walk with God. May God grant you help in Jesus name- Amen. The stardard of God for marriage is the relationship between Christ and the Church. Therefore you will discover in that scripture that God kept referring to the relationship between Christ and the Church to illustrate how a man and his wife should relate ( Ephessians 5:23-25). God seems to be saying that if as a man, you do not understand how to behave and act towards your wife, study the life of Jesus and what He did and is still doing for the Church( His bride) today, and do likewise. And if you are a woman and you seem not to know what God expects of you in your home, study the relationship between the Church and Jesus. It will give you a clear picture of what to do. Christ is our perfect example in every way and God does not compromise that standard. If you discover that you are not yet compromise that standard. If you discover that you are not yet measuring up to Gods standard in marriage, there is no need to waste time lamenting. Pray and study Gods word over this. The Lord will give you light.
