It is only in Nigeria where you find a cabinet Minister supposedly speaking on government thoroughly deliberated and articulated measures regarding a very serious public health issue, yet the information he passes to the public is loaded with a lot of ignorant assumptions and devoid of any semblance of sound knowledge of the issue at stake. It was quite embarrassing to me listening to Mr. Labaran Maku on AIT addressing the state house press after the weekly FEC meeting; that Nigeria has stock of vaccines to fight Ebola virus should the dreaded killer disease dare to appear on its shores. In that case Nigeria deserves a Nobel prize in Physiology and Medicine for getting a vaccine that is not licensed anywhere on earth. Bravo! - Dr. Ibrahim Musa, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
