It is possible to toss out the mountain of errant doctrine based upon the new testament without tossing out the NT itself. There is a mountain of errant doctrine based upon the old testament as well. Is the OT to be tossed out by similar reasoning? There are plenty of textual, language and translational errors to overcome. There are additions and subtractions to the texts. There is very likely to be Scripture missing from the Bible. It doesnt mean the truth cannot be found. It means that personal responsibility must be taken and the good and hard work must be done. If folks would base belief upon their own personal gleanings from the Scriptures and stop letting others tell them what to believe it would be a far better situation. Dont tell me what someone else told you to believe, tell me what you have found for yourself. Give your testimony based upon what you own for yourself. You may have a problem if you have to link to someone elses work to explain your belief.
