It is quite a mild and dreary day in the eastern half of the U.S. - TopicsExpress

It is quite a mild and dreary day in the eastern half of the U.S. on this Christmas Eve as rain continues to stream northward ahead of a developing low pressure center moving up towards the Great Lakes. Generally, an inches of rain is expected to fall along the Eastern Seaboard with up to 2 inches possible in coastal southern New England (lower-right figure) through tomorrow morning. For those looking for a white Christmas, like the best chance will be in western lower Michigan where over 8 inches are forecast through tomorrow morning (lower-left figure). A storm moving onshore will also bring a good chance of snow in the interior western U.S. through Christmas. Check the latest on these forecasts at wpc.ncep.noaa.gov
