It is sad to know how shortsighted we can be as Nigerians sometimes. Why do most people look forward to a ‘Messiah’ that will bring an end to the deplorable state of our society, state or country, when the only ones who can really cause a change is us? Irrespective of your individual opinions, the fact remains that neither Ngige, Obiano, Nwoye or Uba can wave a magic wand and do away with all the problems accumulated over the years of ineffective and irresponsible leadership. Please exercise your civic rights as any good citizen would but stop looking up to these men for change. Start with yourself and take responsibility to be the change you desire to see in a sector of society. Comments like ‘only Ngige can rule Anambra’ are not only shallow minded but irresponsible and most of us that cry ‘corruption’ and ‘disenfranchisement’ encourage these evils everyday but our own personal behaviour within our various spheres of influence.
