It is said the best is saved for last. The program that Tim Palmer (Commander of American Legion Post 166 in New Market) and I did at Sunnyside Retirement Home last evening was just that. It was the exclamation point to end an emotionally exhausting but totally rewarding day. There were 108 residents attending and the band asked any veteran to stand or raise their hand when their branch of service song was played. When finished, 75% had stood or raised their hand, including more than a dozen women. Here is the video of our tribute to Remembering our POWs and MIAs.
