It is so difficult to grasp the god of religion because the god of religion is the god of darkness. The true God can be known and experienced. It is only in experiencing the independent value of the spirit that we can begin to know the reality of God. But we cannot experience the independent value of the spirit if we follow the teachings of religion. Religion separates our consciousness from God and makes us weak and dependent. Instead of being merciful, we become mercy seeking parasites. You will know if you have the spirit because you get to realize more and more its value. This realization is not just something that you pretend to experience because the substance of the spirit is freedom and power. The power of the spirit is not dependent on the things of this world. But because of the powerful influence of religion, we are unable to experience this power. Because we are unable to experience the power and substance of the spirit, we increasingly find the spirit as mystical or mysterious. The power and substance of the spirit is real but it needs to grow. Unless we nurture and let the spirit grown, we will forever be slaves of mortal flesh. The fruit of religion is death, spiritual blindness and weakness. Many will say that not asserting your will on others is weakness. Thus, they seek political power in order to be able to impose their will and moral judgments on others invoking their religious faith. If they just invoke their religion, they may be within their rights. But they misrepresent God and Christ. And this needs to be corrected. God does not impose his will because it is contrary to His nature. If God wanted to impose his will, there would be no need for Christ to show us the truth. With His great power, He could have sent an army and ruled with an iron hand. But that is not the nature of the spirit. We should learn the power of the spirit. The spirit does not have to force anything for the spirit lets nature work for it. That is why, it is important to set man free so he will fulfill his nature. We do not have to be afraid because the spirit cannot be destroyed. If we develop this natural power of the spirit, then we will learn to let nature do its work. All we need is to show the way for we have the light.
