It is so nice to be home after an amazing and totally awesome - TopicsExpress

It is so nice to be home after an amazing and totally awesome 11-day adventure to the Grand Canyon. The 6 days on the river were spectacular. We were 16 of the best friends in the world sharing a "Bucket List" item high up on all our lists. The canyon is breath taking and no way can pictures even begin to capture it. My eyes, heart and mind are full of all that I experienced and it will be a savored memory for life. We ran some great rapids and everyone stayed in the boat (no swimmers). The outfitter Wilderness Adventures was A+ in everything they did. From safety, to food, to fun, to keeping us happy, laughing and thrilled every second. We could not have asked for more. Several of the group had never camped before let alone had to use the bucket set-up fondly known as the groover for going to the bathroom. But all were troopers and no one fell in or kicked it over! Bathing, which after a few days in 90-degree heat becomes necessary in the 47 degree Colorado River was an extra treat none of us planned on. Lots of squealing from us gals when we dunked our heads to get the shampoo out. The 10 mile hike off the rivet to the top of the rim was grueling and not for faint of heart. But we all made it. But I will admit that I kind of felt like I had been run over by a Mack truck after. But there is nothing I regret about the experience with the exception in that it would have been awesome to have Jerry along. But camping is not his cup of tea, so I just took him along with me in my heart. Which I think was a win/win for us both. Life offers so much if you only look out and grab at the moment. These moments are happening now, so live them, don’t just sit back and watch. From the amazing sunsets shared holding hands out on our Lanai to taking a spin in the Miata with the top down and hair flying. Little moments like that are just as awesome and powerful as the Grand Canyon or walking the Great Wall. The most important part is to live them and live them now.
