It is so upsetting to see that in an effort to justify the wrongs that they have committed they frequently demonize our children for the simple mistakes in their lives that we all have made and learned to overcome with time and maturity. There are too many instances where we are not given the benifit of doubt and approached with the assumption that we are already guilty just because the color of our skin. Hopefully this tragedy can lead to the beginning of change so that when my son comes of age, I dont have to have the talk with him about the realities of growing up black.
