It is sort of interesting that as a rule we measure our life by longevity. “How fantastic he lived to a hundred and three” or ”How sad he passed away at 48”. It is understandable because there is a definitive lineal line. But for us still living, actually it is only lineal in how long we have already lived. We still don’t know how long it will be until that last moment. But, should we be measuring our life not by the length, but by the breath or width of it. Is it more important that it is long or that it is full? It would be great to have both, but ultimately we can’t control the length it is beyond our grasp. But we can to a greater extent control its width, its fullness. In business we learn to control what we can and let go or pray for that which we can’t … or go nuts worrying! So isn’t it more important to pack all you can into the width? Put all of the living you can into each day, into your life. – So I think what that means is, you laugh, you help, you give, you ponder, you create, you listen, you learn, you teach, you stand fast on your principles, you love, you share, you dream, you build, you pause and absorb what has been given, you praise, you give thanks …. You go to bed each night having done all you can, for everyone you can, looking forward to great things tomorrow. I wish you a great big fat oversize, bigger than life ….. ahh life.
