It is such a travesty that it takes the suffering of children like Alexis to bring this issue to lawmakers in conservative states. I do not see how any state congressman can not feel compassion for a young lady like her. But even if they do, will they actually take action? Texas, you have a proud tradition of doing things your own way. You, more than any other state in the union believes in states rights. You could absolutely send a message to all the other states in the South that the time has come to protect your citizens. Protect them against the tyranny of big pharma. Protect them against organized crime on the other side of the Rio Grande. Protect them against antiquated policy. Please do not allow this poor girl to continue suffering needlessly.
