It is the height of business immaturity to make a unilateral - TopicsExpress

It is the height of business immaturity to make a unilateral decision without a risk analysis, i.e. clear evidence of fully having examined the potential repercussions of all aspects of ones action. If a junior manager tried to act without counsel, based on an imagined self-complete knowledge base, they would be counselled or perhaps shunted off into special projects. For a business-oriented politician to do such a thing echoes this same sort of immature power-play. Im the boss, it says, and what I say goes. But there are definitely repercussions if you dont examine all sides of an issue, and take on board all arguments, or at least be seen to be paying attention. The current Australian Government is demonstrating all the signs of that sort of immaturity. Do we want that sort of young-players failing to be so comprehensively represented by the people who run our country? Id say no. You can forgive that sort of immaturity in the young, because they will learn from it. You cannot forgive that sort of immaturity in senior politicians, who cling to such an insular point of view. Tony, its the short sword of the pair. Do the right thing and roll it. Come back in a few years with a few more grey hairs, perhaps, but youre not ready for prime time now. Youre not ready for us, and were certainly not ready for you.
