It is time for people to realize that there is no such thing as Cable Companies and Telephone Companies! Those are both archaic terms, referring to a time when things were Analog! Once we converted to Digital, everything became 1s and 0s! These 1s and 0s travel along Copper and Fiber Optic Wires and/or Wirelessly through the air. As such, we need to stop having different rules for Comcast versus AT&T! Both companies provide identical services of TV, Phone and Internet Access! The most critical point being that they are all ISPs! They all use the same digital protocol; TCP/IP! There is no difference! All these companies should be consolidated into one category of ISP and the Internet needs to be classified as a Public Utility! No one is actually using Telecommunications (which is a specific Analog form of communication) but are all using Digital communications (i.e. the Internet)! E-mail, Facebook, Twitter, Phone Services, etc. are all digital, all flow through the same digital pipeline and it doesnt matter whether the company is AT&T, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, WOW! Internet Cable Phone, RCN, Cox Communications, etc. It is all the same 1s and 0s! Stop letting them get away with the lies that they are somehow more than a Digital pipeline!
