It is time people in this country accept TRUTH. Illegal ALIENS, ARE NOT IMMIGRANTS, and are not a positive to this nation. They only benefit those who take advantage of their "criminal presence" and themselves. Increasing the Minimum wage for the "benefit of illegal aliens who are taken advantage of" is just bad business. Who do you think is going to foot the bill? Corporations and Corporate Executives? Not on your life, are the wealthiest of the wealthy going to give up some of their pay to allow for increases. WE WILL through price increases and tax increases. According to research by the Migration Policy Institute, Undocumented aliens account for 5% (that is 1 out of every 20) of the workforce BUT they only contribute .03% {that is 3/100 of 1% for those who are mathematically challenged this means they contribute basically 3/1000} of the US domestic product. They do not impact the economy of this nation in any positive manner and they do not pay taxes contrary to common argument! they are poverty incomes in general because of their illegal status. However they do impact the LEGAL immigration rights of those who have followed the law. and they are the ones who are constantly touted as who is being treated unfairly with the present minimum wage. in actuality that is because they are illegal and working often "under the table", which means they do not contribute to the TAX paid for labor, contrary to what proponents of their so called rights would have us believe. These people DO NOT PAY TAXES, because they are poverty level earners, so they only use the public benefits without paying the bills. Legal immigrants are not ALLOWED by law to be poverty level and remain here. they must be supported individually by those who are paying taxes.
