It is time to register and submit your abstract for the 36th Annual Gopher Tortoise Council Meeting! The Gopher Tortoise Council would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the 36th Annual meeting to be held this year October 16-18 at Chehaw Park in Albany, Georgia. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Land Management and Priority Species Conservation in the Southeast” and will be the focus on Friday. The meeting provides an excellent opportunity for students and professionals to present their work, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. In addition to the field day, there will also be field trip opportunities on Sunday. Topics are not limited to gopher tortoises and can include any of the following topics related to upland habitat and associated species: Conservation Commensal Species Habitat Management/ Restoration Policy/ Regulation Monitoring/ Field Techniques Economics Interdisciplinary Projects General Ecology *We also welcome proposals for the J. Larry Landers Student Research Award and for the Donna J Heinrich Environmental Education Grant.
