It is times like these when everything Ive ever learned and practiced about equanimity and compassion are pushed to their limits. From our corrupt and broken systems to the ingrained and absolutely disgusting racism, ignorance and bigotry I witness on social media to inept leadership on every level to my own feelings of utter helplessness and fear and real anger... I am forced to ask myself if I can manage to find the tenderness in my own heart without it breaking. Yet I still must practice and do my best to show up for my world. And work somehow to relieve the suffering of others. Not just the people I agree with but those I dont (and those who scare me and those who make my stomach turn with the hate spewing from their mouths - yes also them). I wish for a world where we are all seen and see with eyes of compassion and wisdom and a world where love outweighs hatred. We can continue to work for that in the midst of these great challenges. We must. I pray for so many reasons and people right now.
